How to Shipp Your Faulty and Backup Media to Smart Computech?

It’s easy to send the hard drive from one place to another place. But there may be certain failures occur to your hard drive due to improper package. It leads to physical damage or any other damages during shipment. So to avoid those additional damages our Smart Computech professionals will guide you how to pack your failure hard drives for data recovery.

For the best possible chances at data recovery, package your media very carefully to protect it from any further damage during shipping.

  • Wrap the media in an anti-static material to avoid ESD (Electrostatic discharge)damage during transit. Then:

  • Wrap the drive or media in a bubble wrap, or any material to protect it. Wrap the drive securely in two layers bubble wrap. If there are multiple drives please wrap them each individually.

  • Make sure to place the media in a box twice its size and robust box.

  • Next, Tape the box up securely and attach the mailing label with address and contact details outside the box.

  • Mark the outside of the package

  • For ease of identification fill out the data recovery assessment form and place it inside of the box. This information may be taped to the media being recovered.

DO NOTuse foam peanuts, cloth, paper or newspaper or padded envelopes. When shipping more than one hard drive, ensure that the hard disks do not touch and are cushioned individually.

Use a corrugated cardboard box for the exterior packaging. Use of a traceable carrier that can provide proof of delivery is strongly recommended.
